Can we camp overnight?

I’m sorry, we do not allow overnight bookings at Rocklands Market.

If I book an event is there a time that the event has to finish by?

To ensure public noise bylaws are adhered to, all events and participants must be offsite by midnight nightly.

What kind of events have you hosted at Rocklands?

Rocklands is designed for a range of modular uses of various sizes.  We host television and multimedia shoots, weekly markets, small gatherings, business meetings, cooking demonstrations / classes, event pop ups, birthday parties, weddings, yoga classes, wellness retreats, and food truck pop ups.

How many guests can the Black House host for a function?

A seated event can seat roughly 50 people. A standing cocktail event can host roughly 65 guests.

Do you offer any event or wedding planning services?

Currently no, as we are an indoor and outdoor event space. We will be happy to assist your event or wedding planner with executing the needs of your event.

Is Rocklands Licensed for alcohol service?

Currently no, but ask your Caterer or Event Planner about making sure they can provide this service for your event at Rocklands.

What are your rental fees?

Because your event is unique we prefer to quote prices after discussing the nature and scope of your event inquiry.

Can I choose my own event planner / caterer?

Yes. We require that they do a site inspection prior to the event so that they can best advise on the needs for your event.

How do I schedule a site visit?

Please contact us at your convenience and we will be happy to provide a tour.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking is only permitted outdoors in designated areas.

Is Rocklands Market pet friendly?

We will be happy to address your pet request at time of booking.

What is your deposit and cancellation policy?

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking. If you cancel your event your deposit will NOT be refunded. We will be happy to reschedule your event at mutual availability. Rocklands Market is understanding when dealing with unforeseen circumstances and will use its judgement and manage each case as we see fit. All cancellations must be submitted in writing. You may not cancel over the phone or via voicemail.

Who is responsible for cleaning?

All items brought in by you, your vendors, your event planner, caterer, or your guests will need to be removed. After all of the trash is gathered, the trash bags should be placed in the receptacles provided on the property. You will be charged a cleaning and / or damage fee based on status of a post event follow up.

Can I drop off items the day before my event?

All items are to arrive when you or your vendors arrive and are to be taken off the property when your event ends.

Can we cook onsite?

Yes, Rocklands is certified by Public Health. If you are using a Caterer they will need to adhere to all Public Health guidelines.

Is there WiFi?

Yes. Also, our local cellular signal is very strong and stable.

What method of payment do you accept?

Currently we accept cash, certified cheque, bank draft, wire transfer, or e transfer.

Is there a hospital nearby?

Yes, there is a hospital that is an 8 minute drive in the nearby town of Markdale.
